Explore the wondrous world of the ocean's illustrious and often misunderstood apex predator at Sharks, a new exhibition making its North American premiere at Frost Science. Running from October 14, 2023 to April 21, 2024, the exhibition delves into the diversity, territories, interactions and ecological significance of sharks with life-size models, interactive displays, cultural stories exploring First Nations connections to this extraordinary sea creature and more.
Get up close and personal with 10 live-size models of shark species ranging from the small Epaulette shark to the Great White Shark and even the now-extinct, prehistoric Buzzsaw Shark. Probe into the attributes of sharks with interactive displays that include navigating a shark’s body with a 3-D scan and seeing the world from the 360 degree perspective of a Hammerhead Shark. The exhibit also takes a look at sharks in Florida's waters and marine conservation work underway to protect them from threats such as human predation.
The exhibit is on display at the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery, on the first floor of the museum.
