A cross-cultural exchange between Afro-Cuban artists from Miami and First Nations Aboriginal artists from Australia takes center stage in this compelling documentary. Two Islands will be screened at the Koubek Theater on Saturday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 at 2:45 p.m. as part of the 42nd annual Miami Film Festival lineup.
The film documents an international collaboration that explores the rituals and ceremonies integral to both cultures, highlighting how the exchange of ideas, values and traditions fosters tolerance and acceptance. This documentary project, which showcases the power of cinematic storytelling to bridge cultural divides, was produced by Miami Dade College's Koubek Center with support from Miami Dade College, the National Endowment of the Arts and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.
